Die Hard: Evil always return / Emissaries of the reaper
11/01/12 || Habakuk
Okay, so these Swedes have one full-length, a demo and four EPs. Time for a compilation, right? Right. Or so they thought, and crammed the demo (from 2007), first EP (from 2008) and some leftovers into one release, separated by a slash. On all parts, they basically sound like an old school thrash band with a bit of blasting and relatively low-pitched vocals. Decent enough, but I’m not sure if I see a reason that warrants a second release… Whatever. Evil always return! Interesting english aside, there isn’t much to discover except for songs that sound like demo recordings in almost all imaginable ways, from the arrangements to the twin guitar melodies to the drum sound. I’m pretty sure I recognized a few riffs from my old one-demo-band that never got us anywhere and disbanded without noticeable effect on world matters. If I remember correctly, our guitarists sourced those from the underground demo band riff pool. Anyway, congrats to Die Hard for still existing.
Some of the tracks even appear in multiple recordings, which is great for Die Hard completists (Taxi!) – but everyone else will definitely survive without hearing this.
5/10: And by the way, compilations are definitely not kvlt.
After going thru that crap, you most likely wanna read something way more interesting. You do, admit it.
